Move to New York City

Last friday, I finished my last day of work at my employer in Dallas and purchased my one-way ticket to NYC.

Move to NYC after I am done with my undergraduate work. 1 month ago

As of right now I have $4,500 in my savings account.
The problem is I have a credit card bill I need to pay off of $4,600.
I think this winter I’m going to start cleaning out my stuff, and try to sell off some items to pay the card off. Meanwhile I’ll bank my paychecks and add to my savings.

I was doing so well for a while there not buying anything I didn’t need. But for the last 2 months I fell off the wagon.

I’m just so tired of constantly self sabotaging myself in everything aspect of my life. (Paying off debt, weight, just about everything) Maybe I’m subconsciously scared of change, or afraid of failing and not being perfect. So I screw everything up for myself. I need to cut it out and except that I’m human and mistakes are going to happen.

Anyway, this New Year I will get back on track! I turn 30 in July and I would like to be living in New York City by then!

I want to bank $10k or more before I leave. 1 month ago

Want to get out of debt ( pay off traffic tickets, student loans, IRS)

And save 10,000

I SAVED THE 1,506.90 AND JUST PAID IT OFF IN FULL!!!!

So, I picked up a 3rd job! I’ll be working an additional 16 hours a week! I think I’ll have my American Express paid off this month! Then I’ll have one more to go! I’m so motivated!

I’ve cut down my spending A LOT! I’ve also been keeping a checkbook! I feel like I finally have control over my life!

I’m also going to start getting up earlier everday, and I’m going to start exercising, I want to drop some weight so when I do move I will look as great as I will feel! :) 4 months ago

Last week, I paid off my Kohl’s charge in full.
So far this year, I’ve paid off my Citi Card, and Kohl’s charge.
Next I plan to pay off my American Express card! I plan to accomplish this next month! Then I’ll have one more to go. I plan on doing some cleaning today, and finding anything that I can sell to make some extra money to put towards my big credit card! When these cards are paid off that will free up more money for the NYC fund! 4 months ago

Last week I paid off my Citi Card, which was my smallest balance.

Next week I’ll pay off my Kohls charge!

Then I’ll have the 2 big ones to take care of!

So it’s basically 2 down and 2 to go!

I also checked my credit score again last week and it jumped from 745 to 763 so I am quite pleased! I’m sure it will get better since some of these cards are paid off.

I need to think of other ways to make money besides the two jobs. I really hope my dreams will come true and I’ll be able to make the move! I’m sticking it out here at the firm until April 15th (The last day of tax season, and we’ll see what happens afterwards).

I have also been keeping a check book. I can always check my balance daily online, but somehow it seems more real when I literally have to hand write it out.

Our lease starts September 1st. We will be staying in East Harlem on 109th st & 2nd ave.

We have a 2 bedroom 1 bath for $1,225!

I was wondering if someone could send me a New York City phone book? I will of course pay for the shipping and handling. That way I can call up local businesses and inquire if they are hiring and such.

Let me know. I wanted to order one online, but the price was outrageous.

Anyway, I deactivated my facebook today! It’s somewhat freeing because I can focus on more important things. I want to start selling on E-Bay again to sell off items I don’t need anymore, because I won’t be able to take everything with me.

Does anyone have any additonal idea’s to make additonal money on top of working 2 jobs already? 6 months ago

Guys I was initially supposed to move to NYC 2 days ago.. but things fell apart the DAY BEFORE! :(
