How to cosplay at an Anime Convention

How I did it: Bought the fabric (that was hard, finding the right match ><). Then got my tailor to make it from a picture of the character. I cosplayed Kagura Sohma from Fruits Basket, so besides getting the dress made, I also chopped up a cardigan for part of the outfit and bought shoes. I ordered the bag from an online cosplay store.
Lessons & tips: Start early if you're making it.

cosplaying is soo soo much fun. especially at an anime convention because you get positive feedback instead of negative, it helps you make new aquaintences, and you can get your picture taken a lot and feel special! at anime expo 06 i got my picture taken 90 times! and i was just a lolita, not a character. definately worth the effort.
