Gone but not forgotten
And perhaps not gone forever
So my “usual” at the bagel shop is the European Special. Seriously the best sweet bagel combo ever to slide across my tongue. I get it on a Whole Health (multi-grain) bagel. Belgian apple-pear spread, which is a velvety sweet-tart goo of deliciousness, topped with goat cheese and then all warmed in the oven so it gets melty. Well, apparently, the propietor actually gets the Belgian apple-pear spread when he vacas in Europe, and they’re all out. Was informed last Sunday that I had ordered the last Euro Special until the next Euro Vaca. Which probably won’t be until next spring. Le sigh.

Well, it wasn’t so much a cafe, as a kebab shop…
But the owner knows us so well, we just walk in and he smiles and says “Usual?”, which is even better. :)

A most perfect “the usual” cafe, complete with old-people regulars and a cute wall-eyed waiter.
J.J.’s Everyday Cafe in Timonium! Hooray.

I don’t have this amazing ability in any cafe or restaurant, or even a pub, but with the latter it is closer. There is a pub I always go for talks with my friend and we also get a pitcher of Fosters (it’s very cheap!) and I’m beginning to think the bartenders recognise us and whenever we go up we don’t need to order, really. It’s a nice feeling, alright. Perhaps I should just achieve this goal in an non-alcohol-related way. Haha.

I have yet to find a comfy, cozy, cafe that’s relatively close by, with a good selection of vegetarian fare. Now that Bucks serves my drink again and they already know me, I might as well make up my mind and drink the same thing every damn day. Why does it have to be right next to my work? I really don’t even like Bucks all that much, but it’s right there and a cute, tall boy works there, too! :)
I miss my old usual: medium skim chai from coffee coffee in bel air. Miss the yummy smells, good salad, cute knick-knacks, FREE WI-FI… miss it so much!
