How I did it: I fired both an M9 and an M16 to try and give myself some variety and experience with both a handgun and a rifle. I got some instruction beforehand and then got to work with an unloaded weapon to practice loading and unloading as well as taking apart the weapon. It was good overall instruction and gave me a comfort level with the weapon before I even got to the firing line. Read how I did it…
Rebecca Shields is existing nicely in this lovely little internet world.
How I did it: It wasn't anything special, really. I was on a vacation at this ranch with my grandparents and my aunt. They have all sorts of activities there, including horseback riding, hiking, gold panning, and shooting. So I did some activities, and that included shooting. So they showed me how to load the gun and how to aim it and how to use it. And then I shot a few rounds at the targets. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Visited a buddy in SF and went to the Los Gatos Gun Range. We fired two larger caliber rifles: IDF Mauser SP66 and the Remington 700 sniper rifle. It was awesome, but it is unbelievably loud when firing a shot, even with ear protection. I hit my target on the 50 yard range dead on five times. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I decided that I really wanted to do it and I ended up becoming employed at a local gun range and became a certified firearms instructor for the NRA. Read how I did it…

avatar_1 is trying to think of more goals!
This goal entails firing a GUN. Not a pellet gun, not a cap gun, not even a paintball gun. A real gun with live ammo at a shooting range or something.
I almost already did this once but for some reason the pricetag of $80 turned us away??? I think we were on a budget holiday.
Zeb Andersson is getting a job....again.
it’s hard to legally fire a gun. I should have done it while I was in California and Las Vegas in Dec. Cause I don’t think cap guns count, right? :)
I watched ‘Lord of War’ and it’s really intrigued me what it would be like to fire a gun. Not at someone. And not in a confrontational situation. Would be very happ to do it a shooting range. Just want to try it and see what it feels like.
I love weapons so much…all i want to do is own and fire one..preferably a ivory machmaster 45 calliber pistol…def my machine or weapon of choce!
not a gun, but a rifle when i was younger in russia and my cousin’s ex-husband had one so the adult men were shooting bottles etc. on the beach. i wanted to try. man, it hurt (from the power and the rifle hit me backwards… if that makes sense!).
I’d like to fire some nice fire weapon. I’m not talking bout a pellet gun or teeny 9ml or some other shitty pistol. I want to fire something at least the size of a shotgun. yeah! Ultimately a machine gun or bazooka lol!

picklethefish Today I am a Reinventing Tree Hugging Extrovert
Last Christmas a friend of ours took my boyfriend and I to a firing range for the day. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I enjoyed very much. It was eye-opening to see the power of a firearm firsthand. I was very aware that it could fatally injure someone and respected all of the rules and regulations 100%. My gun jammed over a dozen times and nothing makes you more aware of how precious your life is then trying to eject a live bullet from the chamber. I was surprised to find that despite my shaking hands I was a pretty good shot although by the end of the day it was so smoky I could barely see the target and I sneezed black for days. Definitely recommend and hope it teaches people the same respect that it did for me.
