Join a professional organization

attended a meeting in a skyscraper yesterday. i felt like a hot shot. i’m not sure if the people are my cup of tea, yet, but i like what they do – design & build stuff for peeps in 3rd world countries. i’m officially on their mailing list.

i was going to go to a meeting today, but it snowed too muchly and the meeting was 30 miles away, so i bowed out. i didn’t even make it to my dentist appointment today because traffic was moving 0.0000014 miles per hour.

i officially joined one a bit ago to get a discount on a class. now, i just need to go to a function or something.

I joined the obvious organization…because there’s this conference coming up, and with my membership I get a discount.

It’s a relief to have just done it, and now I can stop agonizing about it.

The obvious organization had a meeting this past week. The location was excellent and the topic intrigued me, so I went. I found myself talking more than I had at any of the previous meetings. I just may join this organization after all. Still pondering the big picture before I commit to the membership fee.

I was about to join the obvious organization, but if I haven’t been interested in going to their meetings, why should I consider belonging to it?
