How to be greener
How I did it: Being green is great! It just takes determination and a little optimism. I did things I thought were better for the environment, and it made me happy. Anything anyone does makes a difference. Wouldn't it be great if everyone did this? You can join Disney's Friends for Change at http://www.disney.com/friendsforchange Read the tips below!
Lessons & tips: Use these tips to become greener like I did!
- turn out the lights when you leave a room.
- turn off the water when you brush your teeth.
- turn off appliances when you're not using them.
- ride your bike or walk if it's not far!
- use the shower rather than the bath.
- carpool with your friends.

I do need some improvements.
What can I do? Unplug what I’m not using. Buy local produce and other locally made foods (I have at least been stocking up on all the organic I can find). Get a bike and ride it as often as possible. Donate to the recycling center to help make them bigger and better, and to other organizations devoted to earth/energy conservation. Reuse my clutter (as in find new uses for them). Buy products with biodegradable/recyclable packaging. Take home more recyclables from work and recycle them myself. Update the earth with my own planted stuff. And the like.
- Recycle paper more.
- Take shorter showers and don’t let the water run.
- Conserve energy by unplugging all appliances not in use, including CD player, lights, and cell phone charger.
- Air-dry clothes when possible.
- Take reusable bags when going shopping.
eliminatedintime is a master of wishful thinking and therefore is happy
I wish everyone wanted to help by being greener. I mean, I’m not necessarily gung ho on this, but really protecting the environment should be a big deal to everyone. I try to do my part, but sometimes if there is no recycling bin, I’ll throw away paper or a plastic bottle or a soda can. I know that I shouldn’t, so I’m working on it. I mean, if I truly mean to be green, I can’t just only recycle when it’s convenient. Also, I sometimes leave my lights all day because I forget. Or I turn the heat up in my house when I could easily put on warmer clothes. (Note: I have a tendancy of wearing shorts while inside during the winter.) I drive when I could easily bike or walk instead. So my aim is to change all this. I want to bike and walk more, use less heat, turn off my lights, and recycle whenever possible.
Amy-Elizabeth Page is getting better every day.
I found my local recycling center and am planning on picking up these recycling bins on my next Taco Mac Tuesday. Then on Sundays after Apple, I’ll drive my stuff down to the recycling center.
