How I did it: I got it done on my 19th birthday. I guess I wanted a distraction from myself. I love the compliments but now I feel like I'm prettier without it. It was definitely something I did to be unique, but now I have other means. I didn't like my top lip because it was so thin. So the distraction on the bottom of my lip helped. Now I have injections in my top lip. It hurt only when I got it done. It's kind of fun to play with with your tongue during class or work, almost like chewing gum. I would say to do it, but don't take someone with you who doesn't like needles. It was definitely a bold move but I never have really defiant like ever. Read how I did it… 5 months ago

How I did it: I got snake bites (a ring on each side). Just stepped into a tattoo place and asked for the piercings; it cost $50 and took less than five minutes. Quite a jolt of pain with each one, but only for a split second and totally worth it. There was little to no pain or soreness afterwards; my lip just felt numb and a little swollen. How I did it: I went with this girl I knew to this tattoo and piercing place. I rinsed my mouth. I sat down. I sighed. He asked me if I was nervous. I said yes. He drew a dot on my face and asked if that was fine. I said sure. He laughed. I laughed. He dried my lip and shoved the piece of steel through it. It was over quick, but it was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. Read how I did it… 15 months ago

How I did it: First off, it doesn't hurt.
I found a tattoo shop that only charges $30 for piercings, so I thought what the hell? I'll get my lip pierced. After getting it done I was afraid that it was going to look horrible. But surprise, surprise: it looked pretty nice =] Read how I did it… 16 months ago

I only had mine done 6 months ago, and you know what, I regret it now. I’d wanted a lip piercing for years and years, but never thought I’d be able to do it. In fact I got spider bites. For starters, one of them is not positioned how I would like. Second, I think I have ruined my face, it looked fine with out the piercings and maybe even better, now when I come to take them out, as I inevitably will, I will have not one, but two nasty scars on my face. I wish I had just got one done, not two. But oh well, nothing I can do about it now. 19 months ago

It’s something I’ve been wanting.
I don’t want it to define me.
Then again, I do.
I’m not sure how it would look.
I’m not sure that I care.
I think I just want change. 19 months ago
