I rode a camel once in Uzbekistan; the camels there were not well cared for at all, in fact they were pretty gross and treated terribly (animal welfare hasn’t exactly caught on over there) but I’ve always loved camels for their silliness. They look like someone took all the spare parts of animals and squashed them together, and declared it an animal!
I want to go to the Pushkar Camel Fair some day (not any time soon, unfortunately); I wonder what it costs to ship a camel back to the States? lol.

Well, of course, so do I – We’ve decided that we’re going to have horses, goats and sheep. She wanted a cow, but I’m not quite sure about that.
In any case, it occurred to me that it would be so cool to keep a couple of camels as well. I have only ridden on a camel once, but I loved it. I think I’ll get a camel and name it “Jersey”, just because it would make no sense.
And then the camel would spit. Cool.

There is an ad that says ‘Looking for camels, get more information here’. I clicked on it, and it is not about real camels, but about Camel brand cancer sticks.
My grandfather smoked Camels. He died of lung cancer. So they worked.

for a camel.
It would have to be one of those two hump camels, not one of those dromedaries.
Camels are related to llamas, and llamas act as guardians for herds of sheep and goats. I bet a camel would really scare off those predators. Just hope my sheep wouldn’t beat up on it.
