and with myself for letting it get this way.
Too much food gets forgotten about and goes to waste.
I have changed my shopping habits so that I go to the store every three days or so and get fresh food to cook with, but there are still restaurant leftovers as well as food that either my mom or Syed’s mom sends back with us.
I am looking forward to eating up everything that is inside the fridge and then giving it a thorough cleaning. And then keeping it clean.. grossness be gone!

Tackled This

I couldn’t stand it any longer. Something sticky in the back, crumbs at the bottom. Before I put the groceries away yesterday, I washed all the shelves. Just what the doctor ordered.

Don’t worry, my fridge has not been touched yet.
I’m going to clean it soon, though, because I’m giving it away when I move and I’d feel guilty giving them a dirty fridge.

LovelyStrife I've got to go; gotta leave you all behind and face the truth!
I fear the vegetable drawer. And I need to change out the baking soda so that things don’t start to smell… >_< I’m also afraid that the dairy will retaliate if I try to throw it all out….

It’s more than half empty. We’re going to eat more stuff this week to empty it out more and then thoroughly clean it this weekend. Maybe. Hopefully.

There was an episode of “Cowboy Bebop” called “Toys in the Attic”. Some mysterious creature was attacking the crew, getting everyone sick. In the end, it turned out to be a lobster that had sat in the refrigerator for over a year, and whatever it had metamorphosed into escaped and went on a rampage.
Thus is my life – more specifically, my icebox.
Cleaning out the fridge involves two of my most hated past times – handling stinky, moldy things, and washing dishes, particularly dishes that once contained the afforementioned stinky, moldy things. I threw out a Zip-Loc bag of what I think was chicken last night – I just ran it directly outside to the can, it was that bad. It also requires time – more time than I have available on a regular basis.
I have made this offer once before, and it still stands – anyone who would be willing to clean out my fridge will be rewarded with whatever beer they happen to find in there.

Done, but EW.

Last time I had this decidedly dubious pleasure was in mid-September, and today it was worse than ever. We have got to talk our landlord into getting a new fridge – this just won’t do. I can’t face the horror again.

Cleared out the old stuff, washed a few jars, cleaned the shelves, walls, inside the doors, even my fridge magenets got a polish. Lovely :)

I actually did this before we left for Vegas. Seeing as how we were going to be gone for 5 weeks it seemed only fitting to remove everything but the hardiest condiments. A few lunchmeat packages that had been forgotten in a drawer were close to evolving into new life forms but I managed to successfully dispose of them in the nick of time. Cleaning out the fridge—always an adventure. ; )
