"Not contacting my ex was difficult but not reopening the wound has been very good for me."

How I did it: I've managed to not contact my ex.  It was tough at first, with all the resentment.  Staying in control of myself has led to a smooth healing process.  Whenever I felt like I was going to explode, I wrote a letter and destroyed it. Any logistics I had to deal with were done through email showing no emotion one way or the other.  She doesn't deserve to know how/what I'm doing and I don't want to know what she's up to.  Moving on!

Lessons & tips: My goal has been apathy towards her.  The hatred is disappearing gradually. I allowed myself to hate her, but a grudge only hurts me, not her.  Meet new people, ask people out, and be kind to those around you.  Everytime you feel like breaking down and calling, write an email of your angriest thoughts, let it all out.  Then delete it. It really works.

    To really heal, you have to remember that you came out on top here. Where she is, what she’s doing etc doesn’t matter anymore. Never break down and contact her, she’s proven herself unworthy of you! Don’t look back, plan for the future!!
