I smoke almost a pack a day but I don’t want to quit smoking because I really enjoy it! I eventually want to only smoke 2 a day but I need to ween myself off first so I’m gonna shoot for 4 or 5 for a few weeks and see how it goes.
How to cut down on smoking
How I did it: I guess you could say my butt cheated! I didn't want to stop smoking, cut down on smoking, or anything. I was happy with my pack-per-day habit, dang it! But unfortunately, in the latest cigarette bans - as a clove smoker, my cigarettes became illegal. I was faced with either quitting cold-turkey and trying to wean myself down and FAST with what few packs I had left, or start smoking regular cigs.
I decided that for my own health, I really needed to cut back - but I just didn't want to. So, I got an electronic cigarette. They're much healthier (though the FDA might disagree...), and basically feel like smoking a hookah. I found nicotene-less flavoring, and starting weaning myself off regular cigarettes, to my e-cig. It worked like a dream, I'm past my addiction to nicotene - and I can still smoke. Yay!
Maybe this doesn't qualify as actually cutting back on smoking, but I use my e-cig FAR less, and I did indeed cut back! In fact, I'm now at the point I PREFER my Innovapor e-cig, and haven't smoked a real cigarette in a couple weeks now!
Lessons & tips: Just do your research on the e-cigs if that's the route you choose to take. There's a bit of a learning curve, because it's still a peice of electronic equipment; and you have to re-fill cartridges and such. But, it's no more work than either rolling your own cigarette, and it's certainly less work than panicking and digging for a lighter.
And OH MY GOD is it cheaper! I paid $100 for my cigarette, the charging case, and my liquids. I was spending about $400 a month on cigarettes. I now, after my initial $100 investment, spend about $10 a month on accessories and liquid.

I order my clove flavored liquids from Janty, and have a bit of a mix I make myself with a combination of rose, clove, and coffee flavorings. Tastes just like the real thing! My actual e-cig is a Joye 510 from Innovapor, with a green LED on the tip.

im being relistic now, i dont want to quit at the moment becasue i know i cant just yet, well not this year anyway so i just want to c how much i can cut down, i hate smokin, it gives me spots and makes me stink, also im worried about looking old and wrinkly wen im a bit older!
im going to cut down to five a day
. 1 in the morning
. 1 on my dinner
.1 after work
.1 after tea
.1 before bed
i would like to cut down on this by 1 evry so often until it reaches 1, ill try it anyways!!
today i am going to start trying to cut down on the amount of cigarettes i have each day…right now, it is a pack a day…i hope to be at half pack within two weeks
I need help cutting down on smoking cause i smoke to much and it seems like when ever I’m with my fiance, I always wants a cigarette.
So it’s been awhile since I’ve made an entry. Nothing to report, no progress at all. All this is, I guess, is wishfull thinking. :/
Well, I have come to the conclusion that this WILL NEVER HAPPEN. I have my moments where i dont smoke as much. But the majority of the time I am a very VERY heavy smoker. I have been this way since basically I started smokin which was 4 years ago. I smoke newport 100s…addicted to plexiglass! I drink a good amount and when I do I go threw a pack that night. So chyea it aint happening. That and I realy do enjoy smoking. So I think Ill give up on this. Maybe.
I smoke on average a pack and a half a day. I also sleep alot so it’s about a pack every 12 hours. Thats not good for a 17 year old. I’ve been smoking newport 100s since late march/early april of 2003. I’ve steadily smoked the same amount from then till now. I know ir has taken some toll on my body considering I wake up desperatly feening for a cigarette and when I do not have my “morning cigarette” I am coughing up chunks of brown mucus till I have one. I use to be a realy good runner. I still run fast, but the distance is short. By the time I run up the stairs I am gasping for air. I know that my weight and bra size has some part in the fact that I can hardly run anywhere, but I am sure that my smoking habits have the biggest part in it. I spend 40 dollars on cigarettes a week. I enjoy smoking, but I wish I didn’t smoke as much as I do. I need some advice!
