I adopted Max this morning from a local animal control facility. He’s three years old and the perfect combination of spunk and sweetness. I have honestly never seen a happier dog…His tail is wagging just about every second he’s awake!
I’ll always miss Regis, of course, but I love Max for who he is and I really enjoy hearing snorts and snuffles again!

This is Regis. I adopted him from Pug rescue and he was my shadow and best friend for nearly four years. Sadly, Regis lost his battle with acute kidney failure in early January.
Several months passed before I was ready to get another dog—and I knew that dog would be a Pug. Then Cody, my Airedale mix, died last month. Finding a new canine companion suddenly became even more important.
Having another Pug around would really help chase away my persistent emptiness and sadness. I’ve been checking sites like Petfinder and Craigslist every day, and I’ll continue to do so until I find the right dog—no matter how long it takes.

I have always loved dogs, even before I got a job as a groomer. I initially wanted to be a vet, but the cost of school forced me to reconsider. :-( There has always been something about pugs in particular that I adore. Maybe it’s the way they usually think they are a big dog even though they come in a tiny package. Maybe it’s their amusing smiles. I have an apartment now with my bf, and he has finally given in a little on looking at pugs to adopt, “maybe” in february or so…

pugs are really expensive to adopt. i think i’m just going to adopt a mutt from the pound. they need my help more anyway.

I already have one. He’d love to have a girlfriend, though.

I adopted a pug. She is now almost five years old and doing very well. My children love her and she loves the whole family. It’s hard to imagine life before her and I’m glad that with proper care, she has a long life to live. Now it seems that they are everywhere. She is so much fun and smart too. Pugs are hard to train, but they are small so it’s not so bad if they are a little unruly!!!

i workfor a vet, and we offer boarding services. there was one dog, a pug (a breed about which i am very passionate), who came in fairly often because her owner was elderly and in and out of a nursing home. she died a couple of weeks ago and the executor of her will offered me the dog (whom i love dearly!). so…i technically inherited my portobella (bella for short), but i consider her adopted. she’s a 5 year old fawn pug, and overweight, but we’re working on that. :) i have to say, she is already hopelessly devoted to me. she follows me around, sits at my feet, and if i go in a room and close the door, she’ll lay down in front of the door and not get up until i come back out. my only warning is that pugs are NOT easy to train! it takes a lot of patience and learning your own dog’s personality and how he or she responds to certain styles of training.
on the whole? having a pug is VERY rewarding, and knowing that another home may not have been very good for her, i am happy knowing she’s in the best home for her now. mine!
