It’s been a long (LONG) time since I’ve worn a skirt on a non-special occasion. Wearing one will be a step in the direction of diversifying my wardrobe.
How to wear a skirt
How I did it: I took the plunge and bought the thing first. Then I invested in some good thick tights because I am a pasty thing that burns rather than tans so tights are a must! Then I picked a day and decided that I was going to wear it regardless of how I felt. It probably helped that it was a going on holiday day.
Lessons & tips: Pick something you feel comfortable in.

I’m going on a mini seaside holiday with some friends soon so that will be the perfect time to wear the skirt!
I also bought some gorgeous purple tights for incase it’s chilly!

This would be alot easier if there could be some decent weather!
I can’t give up my jeans when it’s cold!

I’ve never been much of a girly girl (accept when I was very small and couldn’t wait for summer dresses at school!) and I’ve never really felt confident in anything other than jeans.
After a recent knock to my overall body confidence and whatnot I decided to take it back and I have actually bought a skirt.
It’s only a simple denim number (so still in the jeans area) but I thought it was a good first step.
Now I just need to wear it and I’ve decided wearing it in the house doesn’t count. Outside or nothing!
my legs…i truly have ugly legs. I’m bowed legged and because of it I’ve had numerous surgeries and have scares..therefore I never wear skirts. I need to get over this one, because there are alot of cute little skirts out now for the spring!
afef Looking forward for Winter time :)
I’ve worn a (dark) fairy costume for carnival this year and worn my first skirt in YEARS!!
Since I was a kid I never opted for the ‘show-your-legs’ option when it came to choosing clothes. Throughout my teens I always wore trousers, jeans or sweats because I never felt feminine enough to dress like a girl. I’m twenty-two now and have been with my boyfriend for almost five years and this Valentine’s day will be wearing a gorgeous little number from the Marks&Spencer range. This is the first time I’ve felt confident enough, after having lost about 40lbs, to look and feel like a proper young lady. I’m so pleased with myself and encourage all you girls out there to go for it. You never realise potentially how beautiful you can be until you try!

Most probably i’ll get myself a chinese dress for carnival. I’ll be wearing a skirt after YEARS of not even looking at one!
I wore a simple jean skirt for some domestic tasks. Christy tells me my clothing garnered a few glances. I didn’t notice; I’m still getting used to the intricacies of simply wearing it, like standing and sitting.
Screw social gender/sexuality preconceptions, straight guys should wear skirts too.
