I’m getting there, have forsed myself to drink Savingion Blonc enough that its now my fave drink, and can tell the difference between chardonnay and sav blonc. Tried a bottle of shiraz and found it interesting that even though i didn’t particully like the taste, it left me wanting more. I could taste the different flavours and had a real warming sensation.
MISSION OF THE MOMENT: Make myself enjoy a glass of red, and find out the difference between Merlot and Shiraz. After I have finished this I will try and teach myself about different kinds of wine, what they go with and the different brands/areas that wine is made.

When I grow up, I’m going to have a glass of wine every night with dinner, and since I’m on the fast track to marry Mr. Sanderson LoatheMeMuch, I can stare at him and make him feel self-conscious over the rim of my wineglass.
It’ll be fun. Trust me.

visit napa...

My husband and I went to Napa this summer and did several barrel tastings and winery tours - learned about the process of making wine, the different kinds of grapes, etc - and let me tell you: it’s really made all the difference in the world. I used to hate red wine, and now I like it more than white! We’ve since tried tons of different wines and each bottle is a new adventure! happy drinking…

learned some pronunciations, pairing, and even a little about how to make wine. Just some basics as wine is too complex and not that big of a thing in my life. But I feel a little more educated.

Ever since I moved into my new place, my longtime desire to learn about wine has been kick-started by the fact that all of my neighbors are wine snobs. Of course, they make WAY more money than me, so they have more resources available (read: apartments chock full o’ fine booze), but on my meager budget I’m trying to learn about the different kinds of wine and understand all of the subtleties that one can pick up when tasting.

i went to a winery in OK of all places on our road trip. it was so nice and we had 9 tastings and bought this stuff that you freeze and blend to make a frozen wine concoction. they had samples of that too there and it was so good.
now i am on the east coast and may check out a winery in NC. i should probably ‘learn’ though instead of just taste. ;)

I enjoy wine, but I know so little about it…I want to actually understand the differences in the varieties and what goes best with what…
