About this Postcrossing thing is that I go and look up the area of the sender and the image on the card, if possible. And sometimes on the stamps, for instance today I learned about the Dandi March in India and the Golden temple, the holiest temple of the Sikhs. And that winter in Estonia looks a lot like where I came from in Maryland! So I really love this Postcrossing thing and it gets me out of my little corner here in the USA.

There are so many nice people out there.

he has joined my Postcrossing addy and is thinking of doing this on his own. But we have great fun in looking at all the wonderful cards we are receiving from around the world and all the niceness that is out there. We’re also talking about getting a scanner and website to start posting on this little hobby.

So like so many things on this 43 things list, it helps with other goals, and this helps our marriage be stronger too with another shared activity. Who’d da thunk it?

I went and got more cards, there are some Miami ones that have major sparkle and bling on them. They’re all cool.

Received another 5 in the mail over the last few weeks!

They came from Finland, Germany, Spain and the USA.

It was a nice surprise waiting for me when we got back from holiday this week. It’s from Horsens in Denmark.

Received a great postcard from San Francisco today. See the piccy. I love the look in their eye ;-)

I’ve received 10 random postcards back via PostCrossing so far.

They’ve come from all over: the USA, the UK, Germany, Finland, Brazil and Portugal. All the cards are great, but I do have a couple of faves. There’s a really cool one shaped like a little fluffy grey dog – very cute. There’s also one of Las Vegas with all the lights, and one of Orchard Beach in the USA showing the beach fairground.

I’ve got them all up on my noticeboards – some at home and some at work, so I see them everyday. It’s a great refresher to look up from the PC and see all these great scenes. I wonder about what the places are like and will I ever visit them. I also wonder about what adventures the postcards went through to get to me.
