Perhaps this doesn’t count as an adventure but me and my sister went on a long walk yesterday and we finally took the time to go look at the old train station that they are renovating. Yay for local history!

This is a hard one to do regularly but just last week I was at the library, studying with my sister and we decided that we needed a break so we went on an adventure(our school library is ENORMOUS, so this was actually way cooler than it sounds!). We ended up finding the oversized books section and a lot of them were really old and cool.

scavenger hunt needs to be done!

i mean honestly, it’s not that hard. with a little bit of reminding myself and a little bit of just taking chances…it worked. and besides, i think there are more adventures in life than we often think. i don’t believe that adventures have to involve bears or murderers or darkness or trains. it’s just something that you haven’t done before that gives you an adrenaline rush and makes you look back and either laugh or think about how dumb you are.
yeah.
so i’m taking this off my list. i will continue to adventure, though. it’s fun, after all.

adventure #9 – jan ninth -

working up the courage to talk to local hispanic people about their experience in america. in spanish. and i suck at spanish. it was awkward, but i’ll get better at it.

adventure #10 – jan tenth -

ran to the mailbox and back. naked. in 40 degree weather. and i am really self-conscious about my body. but it was nice. a good waker-upper-jolt.

adventure #7 – jan seventh -

stealing the most free cookies from the free container at the grocery store as was possible (maybe about ten), putting them in a bag, and handing them out to the two homeless guys down the street.

adventure #8 – jan eighth -

slid down the entire railing on the steps of my school. it’s long. and steep. and i’ve always been too much of wimp. so today, i did it. then my friends and i timed each other to see who could go the fastest. i lost. but that’s okay.

adventure #6 – jan sixth -

succesfully drove over 35 mph with my hands off the wheel for 18.5 seconds (this is a game my bro and i used to play.) it’s hard. and probably dangerous. and oh so addictingly fun.

adventure #4 – jan fourth -

pulled over on the side of the road and mooned the next car.

adventure #5 – jan fifth -

made a buzzer beating three point shot. maybe it doesn’t really count. but that’s okay by me. it was fun. even though it was at the end of the third quarter and we lost anyway. oh well.

adventure #3 – jan third -

this wasn’t my best one. but it was still kind of adrenaline rushing.
so i had just gone through a salad bar / buffet kind of thing at a nearby grocery store, for lunch. and i took some pesto pasta, which i generally like. but me, having no self control, of course picked up a piece from my plate and tried it before paying. it was disgusting. vile. mayonaisey and i hat mayonaise. i don’t know how to spell that. whatever. so i decided to get rid of it before paying so that i didn’t have to pay for the pasta i wasn’t going to eat. i first i thought about putting it back, but the place was crowded, and i knew it would be sketchy. so i meander around looking for some subtle way of tossing it, and my eyes land on muffin/donut/croissant cabinet. i used a couple of papery napkins and picked up the one handful of pasta on my plate, and placed in the glass doored box. i looked up, just to see if anyone had taken notice. they didn’t. at least, i don’t think so.
anyway. it wasn’t much of an adventure. but it’s all i’ve got for the day.

well. i love adventuring, and i would call myself adventurous. it’s just that i don’t have as much free time as i would like. and it isn’t easy for me to just drop all my responsibilities and obligations to go off and do something sweet, even though i’d be a lot happier if i did that more often.
anyway. i’m going to try to have ten adventures in ten days. which means, pretty much one a day.

adventure #1 – jan first -
a bunch of us were more or less intoxicated, but we canoed across this pond anyway in order to play ona huge twelve foot high seesaw. maybe a little dangerous, maybe a little dumb, but really it was one of the best memories that i will keep with me. good times.

adventure #2 – jan second -
trying to get to the place where we were having lunch by walking around this one shopping center. we went in the entirely wrong direction and were somewhat lost when we came across a huge, thorns and bushes covered hill with a fence at the top of it. obviously, i tried to climb it and tore a bunch of holes in my clothes. i got there, though, and it was much more fun than going up the nearby stairs like a lot of my friends did.
