Pilgrim I feel like Chicken Tonight, like Chicken Tonight!!
I just moved to a new city, and when I checked online for my nearest ward, I noticed it was Closed For Repairs! Darn. I’m going to have to call the Bishop and find out where and when we meet.
I miss church so much. I loved the ward in Atlanta (that’s where I was baptized), and I hope to love this one just as much. But you never know until you get involved. Jump right in and meet your neighbors, right? :)

I’m officially the church scrapbooker now! I was given the current book – ending in 2006 – and a huge box of photos! I’m working away and loving it! I can’t help but think about how many people will be able to look back at these books are remember what was going on in our church at any given time.

Still looking
I do like the church I go to, but I dont think its exactly the right one for me. I need to keep looking. I would really love to be a part of a church, but it has to be the right fit. This one doesnt feel very warm to me.

I joined by church three months ago, and felt the need to get involved right away! but I decided to first take in, just belonging, being a member of the congregation. Today, my pastor came to me and informed that it is time to take my place. He said he was waiting on me to decided, but sometimes, we dont decide for ourselves.
So now, I am contemplating what role to take, I’m not sure of true abilities, that i can offer others, I want to utilize the gifts that the Lord has given, me but I dont know how..
please give me some advice,
thanks..

I really want to do this. Not only do I enjoy it, but I truly feel the need to give this experience to my children. Unfortunately I had to take a shift again where I work on Sundays, so Sunday services are out. Which leaves Wednesday night services. This wont work for me for the rest of the month of September due to the shift I am on. I know I wont drive minutes home from work to get the kids, then drive 20 minutes back to church, especially not on a school night when I have to make dinner and make sure homework gets done. In October my shift will change and I will have Wednesdays off so it will (hopefully) be easier for me to be organized. I am sad when I feel like this is a chore to me. When I do go I really enjoy it, and one of the greatest feelings of my life was when my 14 year old went for the first time and seemed moved by it.

let me explain
I’m giving up only in the sense of how I had first put this goal on my list, like being involved in a group or volunteering in a specific way. And here’s the truth: we know people at church, we definitely have people over for dinner and try to do it often, and we have much more stimulating conversation about God and Christ at these dinner parties than we do going to a small group with people we don’t really know when we’re already too busy to hang out with the friends we really want to hang out with.
So I’m giving up on this goal because I put it on my list as something I thought I should do, not really wanted to do in a certain way.
I DO want to join a sunday school class when they start up this fall, because I think that would be an easy commitment (just an extra hour when we’re already at the building) that would build some relationships, but not the guilt trip laden ones if you skip your group one week or something. So I am planning on doing that…but the sense that I’m not involved with my church is dumb. The church is the people, not the building. I’m so totally involved with people, even if I’m not so involved with things inside this building.

I joined a large church in 2006 and started the new members classes but stopped because my husband did not go there at the time and I had a 1 year old daughter. I felt the timing was bad… then I thought, when will my life ever get “easier”. Three months later I started the new members classes again. I wanted to join the choir and children’s ministry. I love to sing and have always been involved in music ministry since I was 5 years old at my childhood church.
I started going to rehearsals but then I went out of town and other obligations came up next thing you know it was 4 months since I had been to rehearsal. I really miss singing in the choir. On last Thursday, I decided to stop making excuses and just GO to rehearsal. I loved it and I know that I am where I am suppose to be.
I plan on being very committed. Part of the requirement is that you have to attend 4 rehearsals before you can minister with the choir. Three to go… I will be faithful and share my gift.

Found a church
I found a church that I enjoy, and I have been going fairly regurlarly but so far only on Wednesday evenings. I should be going to Sunday service tomorrow though. I have taken my oldest son and will be taking the little one soon. Sometimes I am too lazy to get up and go, but when I do I am always happy that I did. I need to get the kids involved and start going weekly. I would also like to get involved in one of their bible studies.
