i have gotten my stickers and my window clings now…the only time i have even logged onto ebay is to leave feedback for those items…i have done very well…and i am quite proud of myself…...of course…the fact that i have several bills to pay, a couple of fairly expensive items i need to purchase, a family to feed, and a couple of trips to make within the next couple of weeks sure does help the process of quitting ebay along…yes it does…i guess i will just have to wait and see how well i do staying away when i actually have a little extra money…THAT will be the difficult part i am sure!!...

oniomania (O-nee-uh-MAY-nee-uh, -MAYN-yuh): Compulsive shopping; excessive, uncontrollable desire to buy things.
That’s me when it comes to certain items. Finding myself mysteriously drawn to windchimes these days. :)
Oniomania came from the latest WordSmith.org A.Word.A.Day email. Couldn’t help but think of this Thing as I read it. :)

:D
You all sure said it with “addiction” in your 43Things entries.
How did I get a hold of what was going on..? Literally because I ran out of $$ at the time. My poor mail person must have lu-UVED me.. :S
Cabbage Patch Dolls, those were my downfall. I have what has to be some 350, 400 or more PLUS accessories that I bought off of there. The last box I “won” and received was kind of like seeing that last firework release on the Fourth of July each year.. Some 44 dolls strong, I think it was. Yikes.
And it all ties in even more with the advocacy I do these days where my local health care provider thought this was just dandy, a total non-issue. I love it.
As part of my make a living will Thing, I plan on donating them in different lots to kids’ organizations, either as toys or auction items, depending on their values, most being of previously loved quality.
Now, can we talk sports trading cards..?
(Let’s not and say we did….?)
STILL get this “urge” at certain times, certain ways the weather is, or something. Reminds me of those days.
If I were asked, I’d say be looking for triggers, for those times, things, situations where one all of a sudden finds oneself magically in front of.. Oh, no.. THAT screen.. :)
Cheering you all on…..!
