I have over 150K of WIP fanfic on my hard drive. This does not include original fiction, nor does it include the bits and pieces I’ve written in notebooks and not transcribed onto my PC.
It bothers me that I start things and then start another and another without finishing the other first. Some are years old. I work on it a little everyday, but it’s usually a few paragraphs in each piece (about 100 stories) and never finishing one specific story. I try to make myself do it, but it doesn’t work.
I’m thinking maybe I’ll post some of the more complete ones to my journal, and have them be interludes that jump about it time. It would get it off my plate that way, and if I do decide to revisit it, I can just post another companion piece or vignette?

Well, one more piece of my 300 challenge pieces is finished. I just need to post it. That brings me up to: 17/300

Well, I’ve made some progress on my 100 story challenge, so I’m happy. Still, I keep looking at the list of stories (80 some unfinished) that I’ve got to work on and get frustrated again. I also seem to have written myself into a corner on one of them. I’ll probably have to ditch about a page and start over from there.
Another plus, I’ve found another started story that just needs to be typed in.
I also managed to finish typing in the last edits I did on one of my novel/novellas. I’m not sure which way I’m going to go. I’ve got to either cut the bloody thing by 6000 words or I have to double it in size to make it fit either qualification. I think I might expand it. It’s very thin right at the moment.

I finished one that had been waiting on about five pages. At least it’s one more done and I can move it out of one file and into another. :)

I’m soooooo silly. I took another writing challenge, so now I have a good 100 more WIPS to deal with.
At least I’ve got a push to finish one or two before I start anything else.

I’m trying to clear out all the stories that have been lingering on my hard drive. It’s actually going fairly well. Now, if I can just finish some of the longer pieces, I’ll be happy. That means I’ve only got forty or so left….

The story I just finished was waiting for four paragraphs. Yes, you read that correctly, four measly little paragraphs. Talk about losing focus on a project. shakes head
But now it’s done and ready to go to its new digital home. Hopefully it will make some people happy. :)

if I stopped adding projects to my list. Ah, well, at least I finished another story today, even if it is a rather new project.
Maybe if I had a clear idea of what would be good endings for some of these it would be better….

Finally, I’ve made one step towards finishing this goal. That means, oh, fifty or more to go. I need to focus more. Still, I’ve finished one, I just have to post it now.

There’s nothing more mind-numbing or wrist-aching than transcribing all of the hand-written pages of a story to the computer. It’s even worse because I’m working on my NEC which has a slightly smaller keyboard than usual.
whine. whine. whine.
Still, I’ve managed to get one of my WIP’s completely onto the computer and I’ve started the other one. Only… oh 24 double-sided pages to finish typing up. Ah, well, I should get some actual work done.
