I’ve got so close to my nan in the last 5 years + realised how alike we are. She’s fascinated by the way the world has changed in the 93 years she’s been here; I’m so grateful she’s not someone who kicks back at change & feels things were better “back then” – Its like she just gets that the world went through many changes before she was around & it will go through many more in her lifetime & beyond.

I really value her opinion on things. She has a childlike appreciation of animals & a wicked sense of humour; she particularly enjoys animal toys that sing/dance, preferably both & why not?! In her words, “I don’t care if they all think I’m mad – I probably am!”

She always reminds me you only get one go at this life, so to make the most of it. She inspires me as a woman & teaches me so many lessons about life, I hope one day I can be as awesome as her. 5 years ago

Time with my nan is prescious as i dont know how much longer she will be around. i regret not spending enough time with my grandad and now its to late. 7 years ago
