Forgot about this account. Well anyway it’s a year later and I’m not published yet, but I do have an agent! Querying was a BITCH. Annyway, I’m currently cutting 30,000 words from the book and strengthening my characters. Deadline is mid-May and I’m currently a bit behind, but not entirely too worried. I’m happy. Goal not entirely complete, but almost there. I’m also applying to low-res MFA programs and I’m nearly done w writing book 2. Well, that’s it for now. Will give a future update. 1 month ago

Finally, my book is coming out.

I am excited and nervous and scared for the book launch.

Okay. The date has been fixed. The venue has been finalized. The Chief Guest decided. Wow. It’s happening. And it’s happening sooner than I thought!!

So I got my book back from my editor and she suggested so many content changes- small, but they affect the characters so the rewrites were almost overwhelming. This wouldn’t have been a problem, but I had jumped the gun and sent my query to an agent who then asked to see the book. It wasn’t ready and that was two months ago. So depressed I stopped working on the book entirely (plus work got super busy) but I hate quitting anything and I hate my boss…well not entirely, I hate that I’m working towards her dreams and not mine, but that’s not her fault. I’m grateful to be working and its nice to have a steady check…I just hate the noncreative boring work. Anyway, so my goal is to finish the edits in 3 weeks. So I have work to do and my plan is to come here and update daily with the amount of pages I’ve worked on. 16 months ago

Adding alittle bit more to my book today! It is a work in progress, but, nearly finished! It has been so therapeutic, and, I am anxious to see it come to fruition when the time is right! It’s finally here! The 22nd October! I am now officially published! AW YEAH. It’s taken over a year since I was accepted and it’s taken me 4 years since I actually finished the first draft for NaNoWriMo 2007!

Eggs, Butter, Sugar and Disaster is my first published novel, and I’m hoping to publish at least one more.

It’s a comic fantasy about a girl who becomes the Goddess of Puddings by accident, and in trying to adjust to her new life and help her fellow gods, accidentally sets off a second Ragnarok – the first being like all that y2k business.

I’m currently working on the book signing poster for it.

So far I have 3 book signings lined up:

Preston Waterstones – 23rd October
Blackpool Waterstones – 29th October
Wigan Waterstones – 5th November

Okay! Now after everything sorted out (Almost everything), I gotta send them the FINAL manuscript. Because that is the surest way to know that the changes have been done. :) 22 months ago

They’ve sent me the edited copy. I am gonna try my best to give them the final things in a week’s time.

They said it doesn’t need substantial editing but I need to mind my language in few chapters because the book is more for an underage audience.

I can’t believe how many times in the book I’ve used slang! It’s gonna be so hard for me to find replacements for those words! 22 months ago

Just done what is hopefully really REALLY the final edit/read through of my book. Now I just need to worry about reviews and marketing. I’m really worried, because basically, if I don’t sell well in the local area, I’m going to be in a bad position to try and sell to everyone else >.<

But I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I’m now waiting on reviews… I’m worried about that too, because a: What if they don’t like it?! and b: there’s actually no way to ensure we get reviews from the people we send them to… no reviews = bad.

In other news… I started a DeviantArt account to promote my book, but it’s kinda hard starting all over again and not being able to post fanart(I want to keep my personal and private accounts seperate for various reasons). But I shall persevere!

So as anyone who has read my other posts will know, I’m to be published the 22nd October. But there’s still so much to do!

Right now I’m almost done designing bookmarks for promotional purposes. I’m so happy that I get to do that! I also need to design a poster.

Because I have a book signing! WOO! It’s in the Waterstones in Wigan if anyone is interested and is anywhere near there… although I doubt that .2 years ago
