Livyru Lovin' Life!

Outline 1 month ago

I figured out a big kind-of outline for the book. Spent time going through the hundreds of pages I’d written and picked out what would be most pertinent.

Not much time indeed 1 month ago

I let that opportunity slip. I need to make a more organized plan on how to accomplish this. Too tired right now to think about it.

Livyru Lovin' Life!

A potential contact 2 months ago

I heard a poet will be coming to Cleveland to do a workshop on Poetry and Healing. I will work on getting 20 of my poems/writings together and present it to him, asking for advice. I’d better move this up on my priority list, though. Not much time.

Poetry is my therapy 2 months ago

I have been collecting poetry since I was in junior high. Most of the poetry I collect is inspirational, spiritual, transformational. They are the ones that truly resonate with me. I am in the process of choosing around 20 of them, and writing briefly how they’ve contributed to my transformation. Then pose a question(s) to the reader asking what in the poem resonates with them. I have been sending these poems almost daily to a distribution list of friends, and the feedback is always interesting. One part of a poem may really strike me, and another part of them poem settles in someone else’s heart.

If anyone can help me on the publishing process, I would Greatly appreciate it!

Partway there! 6 months ago

I finished it! Procrastinating shamefully on the publishing part but for me, actually finishing a project like this is a huge accomplishment. I got it copyrighted, too, didn’t procrastinate on that at all… yay for me! Next step: get some input on “what next” from an old friend who’s a successful kids’ author. Priority for the New Year!

Revising my book proposal 13 months ago

Since 1994 I have been a full-time website planner, project manager, researcher, content developer, and Internet marketing strategist, specializing in small businesses and organizations. Now I’m writing a book about how to make sure you get a competitive small-business website.

It’s not a “how to design your own site” book; there are lots of those already. My book is about what you have to do before you hire a web designer: (1) competition research, (2) strategic planning, and (3) targeted content development. I explain each of these processes in detail.

Everything has to be based on your business and your online competitive environment.

There are also chapters on how to hire an honest, competent Web designer and an honest, competent Internet marketing consultant.

I’m revising my book proposal right now; two publishers have indicated interest, but it’s not a sure thing yet by any means.

being a first time author, looks like self publishing is the only way to go at this point. i didnt spend 4 months writing 83,000 words on 260 pages for no one to benefit from reading it.

I want to get my book publlished. 15 months ago

I’m finished my first book a few months ago, was offered a very small deal, my agent thought she could get me a better deal so I turned it down.

Now, sadly I haven’t been offered a deal else where but we’re still waiting to hear back from a three publishing houses – so fingers crossed. In the meantime I’ve started book two but I can’t help think I made a big mistake turning down the first offer.

I find it hard to stay positive when the rejections are coming hot and heavy.

Wrote it 16 months ago

I finished my first book and am working on my second. Now I’m just trying to get it published. I’m keeping track of my progress on both at http://shaundhutchinson.blogspot.com/ if anyone’s interested.
