I already know Photoshop really well, but I want to be able to make vector designs too, I’m still trying to learn this program and it’s not easy…

I’m comfortable with Photoshop and Lightroom, but I want to learn Illustrator. I also hope to be able to upgrade to CS4.
molemouse Celebrating getting more hours :)
arghh, how counter intuitive is the pen tool :(
I was able to teach myself most of the Adobe Illustrator skills I wanted to know. I don’t think I’m proficient at it yet, but I’m to a point where I can make some functional drawings.
FYI: the book is called Real World Adobe Illustrator CS2 by Mordy Golding. I would recommend it to people who have some limited experience with AI.
If anybody knows a good book to learn Illustrator from I’d love to hear about it. I’m going to make some posters this summer and would like to have an AI reference nearby. I have some very basic familiarity with AI but would like to learn more.
I have the means to start being more creative in my life. I have purchased the tools and now have to apply the discipline to use them. My other goals are all related. Some hidden calculus is at work here.
It turns out Illustrator CS2 has everything I need. My computer won’t support CS3, nor will my budget.
I was shocked to find out how expensive CS2 still was! I eventually turned to ebay for the first time. I lost a few auctions because CS2 is still a hot item, I guess, but once all those people beat me I guess there was a lull in demand.
I won my auction tonight and picked up a copy for $180. Woo hoo!
Next step, buy and install more memory for my computer and then possibly take an online course.
I’m a fairly advanced Photoshop user, familiar with various RIP software like Onyx and Flexi 8 Pro, only makes sense that I should now how to use Illustrator right? Wrong, haven’t ever tried. This is my next great software challenge.
kungfusailer is living the dream!
