I’m in my last year of college in Florida and have yet to find my niche here…Maybe its me- maybe I’m just being overly judgmental but I swear, I have met maybe a handful of people here that I find interesting…I think the whole college scene just isn’t working for me..I can’t wait to get out of Florida. Hopefully moving out West will be a good change of pace- I’m looking for active, interesting and spiritual people who know how to have fun even when there isn’t a keg in the room! any ideas for some cool cities to move to??

The more you do in life, the more people you meet and sometimes, these people are interesting. I have had a tendency to close myself and be very myopic and there are probably a million reasons for that.
I’ve made a conscious effort to participate in the world more often. I purposely put myself out in the world and in doing so, I have met a lot of new (and sometimes interesting) people.
I love people! I’m constantly meeting wonderful people, and the best part is, I find them interesting because I’m meeting them doing things I love!

I am a bit of a hermit. It does not help that my commute is a 15 minute walk to work and I can get pretty much everything I need within a 10 block radius. Because of this, I tend to stay in my comfort zone within my neighborhood.
However, I am making a more concerted effort to venture to other parts of the borough (besides the central library which is still relatively close) in order to meet some new folks.
with life, i tend to get bored. getting bored makes me feel depressed and worthless. not good. i think i can avoid this by meeting new people. and not just your average joe’s and jane’s but people with a story. people with opinions and personality and character. the only question is how to get started..
so i met these interesting people, but thanks to not having any experience in meeting people since i was married for fourteen years ago – i have no idea what to do next.
help!
Define interesting? Boring people annoy the hell out of me, so it seems so much easier to not bother meeting anyone new.
Last night, I went to a law school party that was billed a “costume gala,” so I figured it would be fun and semi-classy. Imagine my surprise when it ended up being in a converted gym lit with a few Ikea lamps, and a bunch of kegs and vodka punch. Yipes, junior high school flashbacks! I was hoping it would be an opportunity to interact with some of my classmates and meet new people, but I think the junior high atmosphere forced people into an eighth grade mindset, completely rife with all the insecurities and standoffishness that accompanied it. I’m still trying though.
