still doing these on myself. I wish i were an expert or could find someone I liked and was cheap so that I could return regularly …
How I did it: As long as I can do it myself, I guess it's good to keep the money! Plus the colors I like, I doubt a nail salon would have on hand. I made it a regular habit by doing it every or every other Sunday evening. The consistency keeps them looking nice! I like them short so I don't care about some fancy length.
Lessons & tips: I've been using a Sally Hanson dual purpose base & topcoat for a base coat.

I love having manicures & pedicures done, though I have gotten better and better at giving them to myself … I just love how good it feels having something modestly special done for myself.
Would a beauty school offer cheap ones? That question just popped into my head …
Regular care of your finger and toe nails helps keep them in good condition. What I do to make sure that my nails are cared-for is set aside money in my budget specifically for visits to the nail salon. I get a manicure and pedicure usually once every two weeks, and then I re-paint my nails every few days (when the old polish starts chipping off). The polish also helps my nails not split, and it keeps me from playing with them and making them worse because I can’t see the actual nail, just the polish that’s on it.
