How I did it: For my entire adult life, and possibly even longer than that, all I ever wanted was a cat. Not jewelry, or babies, or fame or fortune (well, a little fortune would be nice), just a cat. Actually, two cats to be accurate. Just two little kitties to love. My life would be complete. I was the girl who fed strays, eyed kitten calendars, and ooh-ed and aah-ed at my friends' cats, teeming with jealously. Whenever someone adopted a new kitten, I… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went to an animal shelter (one that was kinda far out because the city shelter would have been too expensive, and I felt better going to the one I did because it was a no-kill shelter). Kitty is the 4th cat I've had; with the first 3, stuff kept coming up that I couldn't keep them, like with the last one which turned out to be mean after he got out of the kitten phase, no matter how nice I was to him. I only started getting cats after I… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My partner often worked late and I was getting lonely at night, so we got a cat to keep me company. Tigger was a character right from the word go - He'll follow me as I walk around the house, and if I talk to him he will always meow back. How I did it: Once we moved out of the apartment and into a house, it was time. We researched and found a wonderful breeder and now have two wonderful Siamese cats that are a handful and a delight. I knew I'd love having cats (I can't say own because they own us)! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went to pet helpers and adopted a kitten. It was a disaster. Pet helpers is horrible and I got harrassed for my age, etc. The cat was evil, but I fell in love with him. He terrorized everything and attacked me and my guests all the time. Then, I had to leave my apartment and move where there are no pets allowed and they made me feel like a criminal animal abuser for returning him. It wasn't good. I don't think I want a cat again. Cats are my favourite animals. They are so warm… :). My family has a cat but it’s not completely mine. When I go study and have own flat I will have one, there’s no doubt!

I’m only fifteen so I can’t just ‘get’ a pet, and my family already owns two Terriers so I don’t think they’d be very happy at a new feline addition to the family, but someday, I would like to own a cat. :)

My girlfriend has declared herself a cat hater. She is fond of the phrase “never say never” – not however when it applies to the ownership of cats. harumph
Both of my family cats have died recently as a result of my parents divorce and it has been really hard. It just adds a little more meaning to this goal because my first cat with be in memory of the injustice and in honor of my independence.
