it was okay 6 months ago

I bought it today, and finished it in the car..too much traffic. I came across something like the person has no secret to share and thinks that he/she probably is not interesting enough to have one. Aww, that crossed my mind as well, when i was thinking of a secret i could send…not that having nothing to send makes a person uninteresting, it could also mean, they are more open to others (well atleast that was what i told myself) ;)

I bought the book... 2 years ago

...in Vancouver recently – I flicked through it a bit in the bookshop before paying (because I couldn’t wait to start reading it), and I found that someone had slipped one of those “Hi, my name is” labels in between the pages with “You are beautiful!” written on it. It was such a sweet gesture, and it made my day – I smiled every time I thought about it…in fact I still smile when I think about it. :D

It's on its way... 2 years ago

... from amazon.com. I’m really looking forward to this, since I have wanted to buy it for quite a while. www.postsecret.com is a moving, honest and surprising collection of secrets send on a postcard by ordinary people.

It’s so common to hear the expression ‘ordinary people’ and yet, you still don’t really feel as if you are a part of that group. But the honesty, sadness, joy, fear and compassion which shines through in different ways from each and every postcard, is a true image of humanity. And these people I can relate to, eventhough I haven’t experienced everything everyone writes about, but since it’s so forward and honest it appeals to something inside everyone.

Nobody is perfect. Nobody has perfect lives, perfect parents, children, jobs, boyfriends, girlfriends, childhoods, vacations etc, but it is difficult to talk about because everybody have something different to hide, another experience with the world, let it be good or bad.

What Mr. Johnson, 2nd Avenue, 200 Nowhere Town, hides inside of fears and doubts may be of no obvious relevance to you. But every time I read a postcard, something inside of me shatters and rebuilts in a different way, and I’m not the complete same person I was before. I feel a little bit closer to understand just how different and just how similar everybody is. And right at that moment, I confess to myself just what I keep inside, and I understand the urge to get the burden off the shoulders. To feel that moment of complete freedom and to feel a bit reckless, self-willed and unrestrained, when the postcard slips into the mailbox.

It simply changes your life a little bit, postcard by postcard.

    its amazing!!!! 2 years ago

i bought it today at the Bloor St. West Chapters book store. i’ve read from other users that the book was located in the Biography section, well in my case it was located in the “SELF HELP” section. hmm… i wonder why? as i was reading the post cards in the book which i couldnt put down from the moment i opened it, some secrets are halariously funny, some are plain odd, but most of all the secrets contain real pain from the people that have wrote those secrets. the pain that they hoped will go away with sending those post cards to postsecret. so i was reading it and realized why it was in the self help isle. i guess those heart wrenching secrets are the ones that make the book and the secrets so real that it makes you re-evaluate the things in your own life. it makes your life seem like a paradise at times. the secrets within the book are very much relatable to anyone. it is a good thing to have, keep and pass around for others to see. it was definitly worth getting!
