this is probably the best book ever! I can’t wait to read the rest of his books

One of my favorite books... 2 years ago

...I can’t say I agree with everything he wrote, but it had some great points. And it’s good to read a book and not feel like you’re the one on the earth that’s jacked up. Don Miller is REAL. Good, good book. I definitely recommend it.

So this book is awesome. Miller expresses the real life struggles of temptation and sin in a very life-like way.

Worth a read 2 years ago

Basically, a lot of this is Miller’s take on what “baggage” gets lumped in with pursuing knowledge of Jesus. He takes on a lot of sacred cows (he admits to swearing/drinking/cursing) but also makes a lot of good points those of us “in the faith” a long time need to think about. (i.e. “selling” Christ to non-believers rather than allowing them to see a real experience through our lives…)

My favorite story is about he and other Christians at his college went to a big drinkfest event and set up a confession booth. When people came in, they (the Christians) confessed to the non-Christians the things THEY had failed to do…i.e. they haven’t taken care of the poor/homeless, they are selfish, they do a poor job of representing Christ, etc.
