Most Finnish kids do this, I think. It’s almost an essential part of growing up.

I think I wasn’t as patient as the rest or then I’m just born asymmetric, because there is kind of a tiny part at the side of my tongue missing…

Brilliant. I must have been 9 or 10 years old. I didn’t believe my tongue would actually stick. I was wrong. There was no one there to rescue me so I had to just rip my tongue off. It hurt quite a bit.
