    365 days 2 years ago

I started the 365 days project on flickr on Aug 4th, 2007 and will hopefully continue till next year. But, my camera broke
today, so I may have to take a break.

for the apartment 3 years ago

Polaroids of all of our regular guests and residents for a collage on the wall. I think I got the idea from reading something about a photobooth in someone’s house, which he used to take pictures of all of his (famous) houseguests and then compiled a book. Or kind of like this, I guess.

Today Gwen went shopping and came home with something most excellent: MINI FILE FOLDERS, perfect for 4×6 photos! I plan on using them in my future photograph box, to organize.

    spring quarter 3 years ago

My idea is that I should have some kind of project each quarter (fall/winter/spring, maybe also summer) that will both encapsulate the experience of those ten weeks but also force me to conceptualize and conceive of small-scale projects that will get completed.

I’m not sure what I want to do for the spring yet, but this is what I am thinking: either something presented on the internet or in print form (or both, kind of like a reinvention of my wanting to have a zine).

Visual inspiration at the moment: 1950s WASPy glamour, party invitations, springtime flowers, and general girlishness. Lots of green and pink and the outdoors. I worry that this is too obvious and stereotypical, I think what I need is perhaps an inspirational work. Maybe The Great Gatsby, to fit with the garden parties/formalwear/croquet type theme. I want to work with paper patterned with Victorian lace and perhaps also transparencies, vellum or tracing paper or something similar, and maybe linen or something heavier for the covers, if it is to be in book form. I think Jordan and John would be excellent models for this project (but where could these pictures be taken?).

Simultaneous projects to embark on: color flash photography in the dark, ultimately for some kind of internet Cobrasnake-esque project (I still can’t believe he’s only 20). I will take a roll of John in this manner sometime and see how I like the effect.
