 How I did it: I went to polymorph in Newtown. I've had quite a few friends who have recommended it. Just ask around, or have a look at some online forums. I walked in and had a monroe 15minutes later. Easy =)
Lessons & tips: Don't
get it infected! Unfortunately mine got
infected about 6months after getting it. My upper lip swelled up while I was sleeping. When I woke up, it was so swollen the back of the jewelry was sucked up into my skin. I was given something from an oral surgeon to make the swelling go down and told to get it removed once it had. The swelling did not go
down for several days. By this time, the skin grew over the back of the piercing. I went to the doctor, polymorph and also to hospital to have it removed. The doctor and polymorph both thought it was too deep to do it there. The hospital would not remove it because they said it was still infected. I was told to go back to the doctor and get a referral to a plastic surgeon. $2000 later it was
removed. I miss it, and am thinking or getting it redone.

I saw a girl at school had her Monroe piercing done and it was really cute. I had the piercing earring from when I got my nose pierced a few years before so I went to my dorm room and pierced my lip ! It’s so cute and not a lot of girls have it done. It’s kinda funny too because I’m from Monroe, NC.

Well, I got my monroe pierced. I decided one day that I wanted it, and went and got it! It was a spur of the moment thing, I think anyone who wants it done should just go do it! The only downside is a slight pain just as the needle goes through your lip, but the outcome is worth it!
I wish my mom would let me get one :( I think I would look hot with it. I’m also thinking about a septum, but first I want the Marilyn to see if it will look good with the septum.
ok I got mines done last friday and it actually DID NOT hurt now I was very nervous cuz I didnt know what to expect but its a piece of cake!!! I dont have any problems with mines so far but Im just anxious to replace my lil silver ball with a cute little diamond

Mine healed up really nicely at first and then grew a crazy bubble that formed out of the hole. My piercer said it wasn’t a keloid and that it was infected and would go away. So I guess it’s normal for infection and complications to arise in this piercing, and as long as you keep it clean, it should heal nicely with no scarring.

I just got it done today.. It Is NOT as bad as some people make it out to be.. it didn’t and still doesn’t hurt me at all… it only hurts wen i get my tooth cought on the bar and yank it. Other then that it doesn’t even hurt.. but i do have my nose, tounge, and lebret pierced too so maybe i’m just use to it lol
i’ve had mine a little over a year. i had to wait until my last volleyball season was over, i got it the day after my last tournament. it got infected, but i stuck through it and it was well worth it!
I’ve had my monroe for about 2wks and it did’nt hurt but when I woke up in the morning the ring was in my hole…I was scared but my piercer said it was normal.. Its really cute and everyone shoulod get one!
OK , so It has been 1 full week and my Marilyn piercing is almost heald but the shitty thing that sucks is sometimes in the morning when I wake up I notice the skin on the inside of my upper lip closes over the back of the stud and I have to push it threw and break the skin (a very, very thin layer). Don’t be afraid to do the same shit, it does not hurt! This has happened for the past couple of nights when i go to sleep. Hopefully this will end when it is ALL heald up.
