People, you read it here first;-)
I’m calling it Northern Sunrise, it looks and tastes yummy…
Easy to make too:
- Some ice
- 40cl Triple Sec (Cointreau will do too)
- 20cl Passionfruit syrup (that’s “cordial” in proper English I think;-))
- Top up with Gini
- Decorate with a small sprig of mint

The daiquiri did not go well, and the White Russian went worse. For the former, I’ll need to play with the proportions; for the latter, I’m sorry, but I just can’t take vodka with cream. It simply doesn’t go for me. I’ll stick with Kahlua & creams for such.

I’ve had G&T’s, Martinis, Bajan rum punches, Cuba Libres, Foghorns, and a little concoction that I made which was sort of a variation off a Suffering Bastard. And I make Shirley Temples for the kids.
(Oh, yes, and I’m working on mixing my own grenadine and passion fruit syrup, ‘cause I don’t like the stuff I have for those right now…)

I’m with 007 – I want them shaken, not stirred, and I don’t care how cloudy they get; and the bitters help. Still think I’m more of a g&t guy. On to Bajan rum punches, once I can get my mitts on a bottle of Mount Gay. Also: need to get some grenadine so I can mix Shirley Temples for the girls; it wouldn’t be any fun at all if they couldn’t partake of my new hobby. :-)

I ran across a video series online called the Cocktail Spirit with Robert Hess (a Microsoft guy IRL out in Seattle) – not a bad series at all, though he’s an exceptional snob about his ingredients. Anyway, now I’m inspired; I’d like to start mixing some martinis and a few other drinks at home.

I can now make pretty decent versions of those:-) (still with a glance at the recipe book for quantities though I must admit!)
Next is another ones of my personal faves;-): the MOJITO!!

Morag has just received her GHD's in the post.
Starting out
Over the past week I’ve been trying out a few cocktails:
- Resolution (non alcoholic)
- Red Wine Cooler
- Madras
- Vodka Daisy (my favourite so far!)
- Sundowner
- Gin & Sin
I still need to practice a few of the techinques (I still spill like crazy).
