Free will

How in the world do you do this?
I wonder… maybe there is no plan. I think that maybe, as long as try to live a godly life, maybe it doesn’t matter if I do get somewhere. Maybe that’s part of my free will. Maybe I can choose my own path. I think perhaps HE did have a will for some people so he could accomplish his purpose but I don’t see in the Bible how that applies to every single human being.
I wonder if I can really listen to God.
