see an aurora

I was driving home from school one night with my friend in the car. I thought the sky looked strange, and he said it was just the clouds. He went inside, and I stayed out and kept staring at it. Green and yellow streaks started lashing across the sky. It was breathtaking. It is almost unheard of that an aurora would happen as far south as I was, but I felt lucky to have seen it.

I’m changing my goal from “see the northern lights” to “see an aurora.” I mean, why should the southern lights be any less beautiful and special than the northern ones?

Just yesterday found an old high school friend in Anchorage (we went to school in Texas). Anchorage in winter for the aurora? Hmmmmm….

My friend saw an aurora in Canada. She said it was beautiful, so I wanna see an aurora!!
