So easy. Little green, cute apple-scented turtles and frogs, and various colors of the usual bar shape. Definitely going to do it again.

How I did it: Working at a soap supply warehouse (brambleberry.com) definitely helps. I haven't yet attempted cold process or hot process (baby steps) but melt & pour is super fun and easy. All I had to do was buy the soap base, fragrance, colorant and a fragrance oil. Then while I watched Grey's Anatomy and Sex & The City DVD's I melted the base (you can use a microwave but since I don't have one I used a double boiler), added my ingredient… Read how I did it…

It’s a simple melt and pour soap with goat’s milk, rose, cucumber and flaxseed.

Going to make this apply to Laundry soap. I just love my Mary Kay too much and have a ton of it. But I did find a recipe for Laundry soap that is green and inexpensive. I just need to find Washing Soda and decide how I’m going to acquire soap flakes.

where i was testing out some lab colors for my boss, i finally decided to make my own soap. i get a pretty good discount so i bought some clear melt and pour, red glitter, english rose fragrance oil and some rose molds and did my thing.
they’re currently still in the molds getting hard and i’m going to take them out tomorrow and see how i did. they’ll be xmas presents for my mom & my boyfriend’s mom so fingers crossed hopefully they turn out good.
i’ll post some pictures of my first soaps when i’ve finished. :)

because i now work at bramble berry (www.brambleberry.com) and they have all sorts of great supplies for that. i’m really excited to try out the different scents and milk bases. and shea butter! when i was down in the warehouse my hands were immersed in it all the time and it was lovely.
by the way, i love my job – even if it is the “complaints department.” :)

I always love buying hand-made soap and figured it’d be fun to learn to make it myself.
I found a site that gives good tips http://www.miamisoaps.net
Ill start tomorrow!
Hints and tips would be helpful –
I’ve been meaning to read up on soap making, as I’ve heard that you have to take precautions when working with lye. I hope to do this when the weather is warmer so I can set up outside.
