I just decided not to! 2 years ago

I just can’t do it. I don’t feel compelled to do it, and I don’t even WANT to do it. I’m forced to cut out all dairy and milk due to allergies, and that’s fine. But, the occasional steak is good for the soul!

I am eating a lot of soy meat-replacments as is, and that is healthier than not, so yaay for me. I think I’m okay with giving up on this goal.

I think I’m as vegan as I want to be at this point. I haven’t had any meat or fish or eggs in a week, but I have had honey and grain products with butter or something in them. I’m close to marking this complete, I think.

Soy nog is the best.

I found out that I’m lactose intolerant! So, I’m eating lots of Vegan food – cheese, yogurt, soy milk, etc. However, I’m not going to get all strict about if there are eggs in my breads and whatnot. And I’m still going to eat fish some times too, but am trying to cut out red meat and poultry. yaay for making progress.

So I was Vegan for like a year 2 or 3 years ago. I was a Vegetarian for 6 or so years before that. Then my wedding madness came around and live with a devoted “meat and potatoes” man… not to mention my love affair with cheese. My recent digestive troubles and 30 pound weight gain are spurring me to change though. I’m trying to go through all the meat/dairy I have in the apartment, and just slowly eat it till it’s gone and never restock, just buying vegan food intead. My husband can cook his own damn steak, dammit!

Cheese makes it the hardest. But, there’s more cheese-products around now than there were back in ‘03. I was so much healthier when I was Vegan, had more energy and zest for life. And clearer skin!

Thank God I made 30 days!!!(March 30 – April 28) I am so happy and there’s definitely no turning back. It’s one of the best lifestyle changes I’ve ever made!

Thank God!!! 3 years ago

It was hard to give up dairy, but in a few days, I will be able to cross this off, as it will have been 30 days, making my new lifestyle set!

I am so making progress on this one... 3 years ago

It’s been almost 2 weeks! I’m on day 13. It really got easier after the 4th day. I’ll try not to post any more entries until I make 30 days. Ok…I’ll shut up now…:)

I just got back on track starting yesterday (January 31). My goal is to be totally vegan by the end of March.

Yes... again 4 years ago

I can’t even count the number of times I have “become vegan”... I think the longest I have gone, without cheating, is 2 months, and it was hell. Why is it so hard for me? Well, I don’t like any vegetables for one, and I love milk and cheese. Not to mention vegan food is expensive for a single mother. I’m 19, but still not used to buying my own food, because I live with my parents. Unfortunately they are the opposite of vegan, so opening the refrigerator is like entering the Garden of Eden and eating the apple (or cheese, in this case). In my heart, I really want to be vegan, because I love animals and I want to be more healthy. But since I have no vegetables in my diet, I end up eating mostly carbs, and believe me, The French Fry Diet can be pretty draining. Each time I muster up the courage to try again, this is what happens: I go to the natural food store, spend a couple hundred on vegan food, and end up throwing away most of it because I don’t like it. I try to cope with the few vegan foods I like, but end up being so drained of energy, that I give in and go drink milk or something. Then it’s back to square one… I obviously will have to try a different approach if I want this to work. I have decided to gradually introduce vegan foods and find stuff that I like, before taking out the nonvegan foods. Then once I feel that I like enough food, to sustain my health, I will become totally vegan. Wish me luck… I’ll need it!
