Several years ago, I sent several nights at Rubel Castle in Glendora CA. Mike Rubel is an amazing man. All the stories are true :)
How to spend the night in a castle
How I did it: I was quitting my job at Sandia and decided to take my bf on a trip to Scotland, since we both had about a month off over winter break. I booked X-mas Eve through Boxing Day, via internet, at Dalbousie, and away we flew!
It was spectacular. Later when I read Harry Potter, the description of Hogwarts' Christmas decorating reminded me of being in Dalhousie! It even snowed on Christmas morning.
Lessons & tips: Do your research. (FSM bless the internet!)

I was 11, and it was amazing.
I spent a week living in a castle in Germany with about 100 other girls. For an 11 year old with an active imagination, it was perfect.
I’d like to do it again as an adult, and see how creative my imagination is now.
Would really love to stay in Chillingham Castle in Northumberland – an amazing castle (used for films like Elizabeth and Virgin Queen) :-)
:) In a way, my beautiful manor home here in England is very very castle-like.
What do you think? Should this study abroad trip count?
(Techincally, I’m living in the carriage house of the manor.. but I have spent two nights spending all nighters in the manor library itself, and hopefully will spend another with a friend instead)
