I am usually early for work and mostly for school, it is a good habit. but the majority of my peers don’t care if they are 5minutes or hours late.
I think that it shows respect to be early, at least that’s what my teachers told me.
anyways, I like to start work early too, not wait around. If you want to get something done, do it, but don’t do it if it will make you late to work!
    God bless.

    been better 2 years ago

I’ve been on time every day lately, except that there have been transit delays due to weather and such. I still wonder if people actually believe me, though, and that sucks.

Well, being on time is nice, but I feel like noone notices/cares. It doesn’t really affect anyone else (in my job particularly). Being on time helps me be a little more relaxed in the mornings, but in the long run is something I don’t particularly care about (I mean no later than 5 minutes late kind of thing).

I want to work with people who respect me and support me in general, and I think I’d be on time anyways if I felt more valued/like I had important work to do!!

no more lateness 2 years ago

I keep getting in crap at work for being even a few minutes late (read: 3-5 minutes – not a big deal). But I’m also not late all the time like everyone thinks. I just feel I have better things to think about than this socially constructed thing we call time. I commute a long way on the bus, too, so it’s hard to schedule sometimes.

I am tired of people constantly talking about it and having it affect my references in the future. I also do feel crappy when I come in late – even if it is others imposing this crap on me I feel it. Others are often 3-5 minutes late and nooone is there to notice/says anything.

So I have to stop, even though I’m against being treated like a robot. Or at least I’ll have to call if I think I even might be late. It’s really not that hard!!
