christineykimWaking up early because I my baby
It’s interesting how I always wanted to wake up early and live by the phrase, “early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise,” but because I was always working so late and finishing up to do items until after midnight every night (or much later) that it was a struggle to get up. Now that I have a baby, we have no choice because she likes to wake up around 6am. Sometimes 5:45! It’s funny how you wish for something and it gets delivered to you in a way you didn’t expect, but it gets the job done!
My husband has been helping me by taking care of the baby for the first hour or so of the day so that I can sleep in, but I still want to be able to wake up early, refreshed. Early meaning before 7, ready and wanting to start the day. It would be nice to wake up before the baby so that I have some quiet time in the morning, but I’ll take what I can get! I assume this means I have to go to bed earlier, which means I have to be super productive during the day because we have so many things going on. Isn’t it interesting how so many things are connected to this one goal? So many other habits and behaviors affect this one…
I guess the first order of business, then, is to be super organized and productive so that dinner is planned, prepared, and ready to eat as soon as the baby goes to bed so that we have time to digest the food before we go to bed. And it also means I need to be super productive in getting things done off my to do list so that I don’t have to try and squeeze everything in after dinner! Post-dinner time should be a time of wind down and relaxation. That’s my goal! 18 months ago
