i got a raspberry colored blouse at Express yesterday which is a place i have sort of a love/hate relationship with. it was on sale so i don’t feel too bad about the $23 bucks i dropped on it, especially since the original price was $60. and the color is great and really does a lot for me.
i went in because i had a coupon, but of course i couldn’t use the coupon because the blouse was on sale. damnit. but, i did find some great cigarette pants there that i think i’ll go back for in the future. and they’re full price, so maybe i can actually use that stupid coupon.
i hate it when marketing schemes target me perfectly.
update: i took the burgundy sweater back. i just didn’t LOVE it.

i bought a burgundy silk/cashmere sweater today, but i’m not sure if i’m going to keep it or not. it’s definitely work appropriate, but i have to try it on with some different tops i have because it’s a size small. usually i’m a medium but this cardigan buttoned down without any puckering or pulling over the button down i was already wearing so i figured i’d give it a shot.
walk in looking for a gray skirt, walk out with a red sweater. go figure.

i’ve been really good about thinking about the pieces i need for my wardrobe and making a list at the beginning of each season of them. i made a decision to try and start either shopping in outfits or buying articles just to go with items i already have in my closet to make outfits because i find my wardrobe can be so fragmented at times. this is partially absolutely my fault because i tend to buy really random things sometimes. my shopping should be way more organized. i got a forest green cashmere sweater the other day and its a great fall piece and a great piece to build on.

I have always thought that a person should dress for success. I want to look my best every day. You never know when you might run into someone or need to make a good impression. I am starting a new job in a week and a half and I really want to start it off on the right foot. I want to impress all of my new coworkers with my intelligence and skills as well as my fashionable style.

This is one of my new year’s resolutions. As I get a clean slate at the beginning of the year, I also get to return to work after a couple of months off for maternity leave. I decided to turn over a new leaf and dress up for work on a daily basis. I got the opportunity to do alot of wardrobe (clothing) shopping while I was off I just need a little income to finish accessorizing with shoes (my father calls me Imelda, but I haven’t bought any new ones lately) and jewelry.
Once you’ve done something for three weeks it supposedly becomes a habit and that is certainly my intention here. To dress up and wear makeup daily – at least for now – this should counteract any lingering “pregnancy brain” phenomenon and instances of sleeplessness to be encountered with an infant and an almost three year old at home.

I am not sure what my strategy is to accomplish this goal except to say that a task I will be working on will be to get rid of 80 percent of the contents of my closet.
I started buying some clothes that I love!!!
3/7/05 what is my next piece of cloths that I want to invest in?..
