I haven't finished that project! 2 years ago

I need to work on it today or over the weekend. In the meantime I started another project—I canned my own apple sauce and strawberry preserve.

I need to keep on track, these are the projects I’m working on that I’d like to finish:
    Making Magnets
Canning Fruit while it is in season
    Binding my own books
    Old book picture frames
Putting it all together as Holiday Gifts

I wonder if I could kint gift bags easily? Nice reusable wrapping… maybe…maybe

    First step... 2 years ago

my current project is making resin-cast magnets to give to my family durring the holidays. My great idea is to make/find molds that I can use to cast clear resin with magnets on the back as gifts. Each family unit will get one set with a theme. One aunt and uncle like to cook, so they get a spice theme. Not just images, but actual interesting looking spices set into the resin. Another set just had their second child, they either get photos of their kids or kid themed magnets. I see toys and cartoon characters. I need to come up with magnet themes for all the different couples, and then I need to actually make these magnets. I have the casting materials, even stuff to make new molds from scratch if I come up with interesting shape ideas. The magnets are on the way from AmerSciSur and I bought some soft flexible ice cube trays to try out as molds.

So lets see if I can actually do all this.

Aarg… I need an xacto knife!
Look into getting: circle cutter, cooking spray (to help mold release), plastic craft gloves, toothpicks or skewers for poking things around,

Note to self…spread molds out so magnets dont attract each other

damm..I resined myself, now my fingers are sticky. This first project is a test to see if the molds I got will work for resin, to see how I should attach the magnets (set into resin or glued) and to try the addition of nail polish as a color agent…and to see if I resin a flower, will it yellow and rot inside the resin.

ohh idea.. coffe bean themed set of magnets
or tea themed set of magnets, there’s some really pretty tea leaves
