I have wanted to do this for sooo long. But only a week ago did I buy the crochet needle and some wool. It’s so hard for me to learn though, I might have to get someone to teach me in person because the books and visual videos on youtube aren’t working, any suggestions?

It’s almost finished – the exciting part is it’s my first that I made up on my own (not following a pattern.) It’s going to be a three-eyed alien girl when its done. :-)

I’m almost done with a really cute Octopus. Just 5 more legs to go. :-) I’ll post a picture when done.

Yay – my crochet 101 class is tonight. I’m taking a road trip next week for 10 days so I’m hoping to use the passenger time to figure the amigurumi thing out… we’re heading up to the Canadian Rockies and then to visit my significant other’s family. Wouldn’t it be fun if I show up with a few cute ami critters to give away? :-)

I found some great info on youTube but I’m going to take a crochet 101 class b/c I still have some questions. I haven’t even finished one amigurumi project but I can tell that it’s going to be a lot of fun already.
You wouldn’t believe how simple this is to do. I started doing this last week, and I’ve done three projects in the last three days. It’s so simple, I just made up my own pattern. Once you get the hang of it you’ll think “Wow, that really was easy.” It’s really rewarding, and very forgiving, so it doesn’t matter if you drop a stitch here and there. You can find tutorials on Youtube that are great!
I’ve crochetted an amigurumi pig for my boyfriend for Christmas. It was a little rough around the edges and so my goal for the summer is to become skilled enough to create my own patterns.
