I finally got his credit reports! The ex’s credit card is still on there so I have an account number and expiration date now (which an evil person would use to buy stuff) and I can use it to write to citibank to ask them to remove him from her account so that he won’t have to contact her directly. Everything else on there was as expected, so I’m pleased.
I’m calling this one done! :)

I found the copy of his driver’s license. I mailed them out today. I won’t mark this as completed until the reports actually come in the mail. I don’t know why they are making this so difficult, but I sent them lots o’ documentation to prove that this isn’t an evil identity theft scheme. Or is it?
Just kidding!

Mark is out of town and I had a copy of his driver’s license that I can’t find now, so I haven’t been able to send off the forms. Grrrr!
And apparently, I’m a pirate today.

I got my free credit reports for the year (my credit is getting better!) but I can’t get Mark’s online because they don’t have updated information for him and he moved away from his state. Anyway, I was able to look at it last July when my company ran it for our rental house, but I want to see if anything else has gone onto it. So, I have to remember to mail in the forms with copies of all his info. What a pain, but I really need to get it done. I wish his ex-girlfriend would remove him as an authorized user on her credit card, since she has it maxed out and they are no longer associated. He has refused to talk to her since the day he broke up with her, so he’s not about to call her and ask her to do it. Maybe she has removed him and the credit report will show it. She must have forgotten because I think she’d be embarrased to know that we can know how much is on her credit card, and she called his parents last summer yelling about the credit card offers she kept getting in his name at her house. Well, duh, you put him on your credit card, silly, of course the offers will come to your house. Anywho…something to get done!

I checked my report a few weeks ago. I was relieved to find out that no one was using my personal information to buy expensive lingerie or big-screen TVs.
Finding my actual credit score was extra, so I didn’t do that.

I checked out the website but couldn’t request my credit report over the phone (likely because I have moved recently). So tomorrow I will print the form and fax it in. (Must remember to have proof of address with me :)

Just did this.

I use this site: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
It’s free and pretty easy, and gives you reports from all three bureaus.
My reports were pretty much what I expected. It’ll take maybe a year to two years for me to be happy with them.

I just used freecreditreport.com the other day, but to warn you, you have to call and cancel the so called “free” report or else you will be billed.

I ordered my reports today through a site that promised to give me all three credit reports I think they work through truecredit which turns out to be a company run by Transunion. Desperately waiting to know the status but to be frank, I really hate the fact that these three agencies are doing. Recording our personal financial information and giving it away to the lenders so they have an excuse to charge heavy interest rates. What has my past spending got to do with what I am right now. I did spend recklessly in the past and missed out on a lot of bills, but that is the past. I am a new person now and I know how to take care of my finances. But all these changes will take years to reflect on my reports. So how are they reliable?
I really think that we need to move to a better system. They current system of credit reports is outdated and it sucks big time! I hope at-least a few people here agree with me.

I want to order a free report but I am not sure if a free report includes data from all three agencies. Has anyone got an idea about this? Will I get reports from all three credit agencies if I order a free report? What is the difference between a free report and a paid report?
