work at a summer camp

I know it’s idealistic, but this is a dream come true!
I’ve wanted to work at this camp ever since my first of 5 years as a camper there.
I get to live in a beautiful, secluded place all summer.
Even better than this?
My amazing boyfriend of 2 years in june is hired also!
We both got hired as lifeguards, and neither of us have any experience. :D
I’m so happy.
This is really the push I need to finish up the semester strong.
I’m more motivated spiritually, because I want to prepare now so when I go it can be all about growth…
I’m motivated to keep strong on exercising and eating right because I’m gonna be spending the summer in a swimsuit and I need to be in good shape should duty call…

I’m motivated to get all this piled up crap done so I can high-tail it outta here after school lets out.
I have to work harder in school now because I’ve got lifeguard training weekend after next, when my whole life is due..

I’m a riding instructor at a Girl Scout camp this summer. My day begins at 7AM and ends at 10pm, with one daily 2 hour break. Exhausting, stressful and yet somehow the most worthwhile summer experience I’ve ever had. Campers are frustrating, but getting to know the horses and fellow staff members has made the work completely worth it. Best alternative to waitressing I could have chosen! No regrets…

Regarding the above photograph: it depicts me riding our great big dumb draft cross—and steering with the classic “carrot on a stick” method. :) Good times at Camp.

Aaaand, I’ve lost 20 pounds. :)
