Stress is an ignorant state. It believes that everything is an emergency. Nothing is that important. ~ Natalie Goldberg
SoManyChoices is between a rock and a hard place...
Have you ever felt like you were being pulled in so many different directions at once? Your body is still intact (thankfully), but your soul feels like it has been pulled apart to shreds? Okay, so everyone needs support every now and then, that’s quite understandable…so you help a few people here, and a few people there, racking up “dependability” points… Next thing you know, it becomes a few dozen here and a few dozen there, and you feel like in the midst of all of this, you had been leaving a few brain cells behind with each of those people you’ve helped. You finally get back to the project you were working on…and all of sudden, you hear crickets. Your boss receives kudos for having such a great support team, so you’re forced to repeat this cycle on a regular basis, leaving you with poor performance and a bad review…from your boss, of course. So my question is this…is it worth comprising your performance to help others succeed? Ladies and gentlemen, THAT’S the million dollar question for today.
I recently moved to the US, left my high stress job and lifestyle behind for a new beginning… love it!
I always feel pressure from everyone to excel and all I really want to do is relax.
