"Dancing is fun!"

How I did it: Okay - I've always been embarrassed to dance because I'm not good at it. Not at all. In fact, I'm pretty awful - at least in my own opinion. I've always been self-conscious about what people would think or say about me while I'm out on the floor. But the truth of the matter is mean people will say mean things whether I'm being a wallflower or whether I'm dancing and having fun. And I choose fun! I like music and I like to dance and I'm not going to let what other people think of me stop me. It's just a decision I've had to make.

Lessons & tips: Wait until you hear a song you love and get out there and shake it!

Resources: My friends. The people who love you don't care how you dance - and they'll be right on the floor being silly and having fun with you.

Oh - and I dance a lot when I'm by myself - which I recommend. You can practice your moves which can make you more comfortable on the dance floor.

    There is only one week a year that i actually dance every day and not care who sees the foolishness (literally), and that’s at Camp Kudzu. Its such an enjoyable thing, and i’m tired of trying to be the person that everyone else likes. I’m very self conscious, and that’s something that seems to ruin a lot of possible good moments in my life.
    Fall Formal is next week, and if i go (aka if my mum will let me miss the New Moon showing), i think that’s a great time to get this off my list :D
