hollymoose78 needs to finally get in Christmas mode.
I brought this project to work, and I’m determined to complete this very soon!
How I did it: I did a little online research about the needs and requirements, and found out which coordinator to report to. Then I just crocheted away in the evenings mostly. I ended up making one that would work for a teenager or big kid figuring most people probably think of doing them for babies, and not as much for older kids. The colors are gender-neutral, too. It's so soft and warm- I hope it warms the heart of the recipient.
Lessons & tips: Always do your homework to find out needs & requirements- you don't want to go through all the 'work' only to find out your blanket can't be used for some reason.
Resources: The website for Project Linus was quite helpful. My coordinator has been great, too. Talk to people who are involved if you have questions.

Now, I’d say I’m at a solid 85%. I’ll keep working away.

I’m at approx. 70% done now. I hope to work on this every day until it’s finished… as cold weather approaches it makes me think of people that may need it.

I am now done with the green middle section, and started the red last night before going to bed. It’s going to look great!
It’s going to be hard to give up because (by coincidence) it matches my living room perfectly!

Next step: keeping working at it daily
Deadline: I’d love to have it finished and sent/delivered before the snow falls. (So I’ll aim for 11/8- a Saturday).

I’m probably about 40% done with this now. I keep working at it every day. Next time I’m at the craft store I’ll pick up the last skein. All in all it’ll cost me about $15 for this first one.
I can’t wait to begin a second one!

I went to get more of the same yarn, and there wasn’t any more of the same. So, I got some in a different color, and I will ‘bookend’ the cream color with variegated green. I think it’ll be pretty.
I also bought some baby blue variegated thin yarn and white of the same, so I can make some newborn afghans.
I’m probably about 33% of the way done with the first blanket. I’ll need to buy another variegated green, I’m guessing.

I am about 30% of the way done now. I’ll probably do some more tonight. I’m almost positive I’ll only need one more skein, too.

now I am about 1/5 of the way done.

I am about 1/6 of the way done already. It is so pretty. I love that yarn! I wish I could know the joy that it brings to someone. I’ll just have to trust that I’m making a difference. My goal is to have it finished and submitted by the end of summer so that someone can get it before the cold weather hits- this blankie is sure to keep some child warm.
