How I did it: ADDED A NEW PICTURE 2013. Red marks are a bitch, but otherwise my skin is still clear save for pimples every now and then.
Overall, i just stopped washing my face. At most I will use water, but now i'm not even really using water. I exfoliate with a dry washcloth as needed (run it over my face without any pressure) and only have issues if I pick at my pores.
It takes a long while for skin to heal, and it's still healing a few years after I originally posted that I'd succeeded in clearing up my acne. The acne is gone but the skin is still showing the effects of the acne. I'm pretty happy with how I look though now, and I feel like acne really allowed me to start feeling okay with my naked skin :) Read how I did it… 18 months ago

How I did it: During years I tried every product in the market, unfortunately nothing worked. The only solution for my skin was seeing a dermatologist, she gave me a ton of creams and pills, it was expensive but totally worth it. Read how I did it… 18 months ago

But I still have a lot of red marks that need to fade (and scars, but those may not fill back out completely), and I still get some minor clogs here and there, so I’m not marking this complete just yet. I think I know what is triggering some of the clogging, so hopefully in a few weeks once I lay off what is potentially contributing, my skin will look even better. I also still have body acne, albeit mild, with numerous red marks as well. I’m hoping that by this Christmas my skin will be at a place where I feel I can complete this, but so far I really only get a couple of pimples every few weeks at most.
I cleared my acne up within 2-3 months by going water-only. I no longer use any tools or products, and I do believe that leaving my hands out of the cleansing equation the majority of the time is the most beneficial, using my hands only to rub away any flakes or if my skin feels like it might need it. I stopped picking, which helped immensely. I’ve also been water-only head-to-toe, and it’s been pretty wonderful thus far. 21 months ago

One month into my water-only routine. My acne has decreased to the point where I no longer really have acne. I am currently purging a bit, so I do have some clogs (mostly on my nose, a bit on my cheeks) and a few minor bumps from old pimples. My forehead, upper lip, and chin are basically free of acne and no longer bother me (besides the minor red marks on my chin). My cheeks are still problematic, as they are covered in red marks, have an uneven texture, and are still a bit clogged. I am trying to make sure I don’t pick, which is hard. I’ve got minor body acne as well, and all areas are purging at this time. My skin has mostly finished its transition into the routine, so I just need to wait out the purging. 1 year ago
