We finally bit the bullet, and moved to Zurich in January, 2008. Gave up a great job in San Francisco to roll the dice there, and hope I can find work to support us (wife and 13 month old daughter). My Swiss wife accepted a job offer that pays about half what I am making here, but that combined with our savings should keep us going for about a year, so we can a least give it a shot. Big step, but we are exhilarated by the potential.

I am a Filipina who is living in Shanghai for more than 2years now and planning to move to Switzerland but the thing is i dont know where to get started,i only speak my native language(which is Tagalog),English and a little bit of Mandarin, languages that i think are not really useful in Switzerland. But then again,I am desperate to move, to find a job and settle down.Hope anyone out there can enlighten me with this matter.danke schon!
I figure I could get some sore of job there in the insurance industry. I only speak English though!
Basically the only way to move to Switzerland if you’re a non-european is to get a job with one of the big international companies that are based here. Many swiss companies have great reputations as being good employers and many are willing to take you on if you have the right skills even if you don’t speak any of the swiss languages (german, french, italian).
Switzerland is a beautiful place and there is plenty to do all year round, but be warned – “integration” here is much more difficult than it is in most other countries and you’ll probably find that all of the friends you make are other expats!
Move to Switzerland is a great site that has lots of information for people interested in moving to Switzerland.
