I’m not a business man, I think I’m going to give the software I write away. Donation will always be gladly accepted…
The guy from the Yellow Pages came around yesterday and Sam is working on my artwork now, ready for the deadline. His presentation was hilariously bad and one of our kittens, Violet, decided to show this by strolling past him and farting – twice. It stank and he tried to pretend nothing had happened. KT and I nearly died of laughter as soon as he was out of the house.
I’ve got into better habits with regard to making a note of my appointments, updated my account book and my helpdesk program, and am all set for future calls…
Here’s the things I need to do when a call occurs:
1. Enter it on the helpdesk system with the customer’s name, address, telephone number and details of the fault.
2. Enter the appointment date, time, name, phone number and fault on the PDA.
3. Do the call.
4. Enter the call details on the Helpdesk app.
5. Enter the income details on Quickbooks.
6. Bank the income.
7. Send out a bill if the customer did not request one during the call.
...because I don’t put in enough effort. I’m not keeping records properly, updating my helpdesk application. keeping computerised accounts, updating my monthly accounts book, or keeping records of when I rob the cash tin. In a nutshell, my business is an absolute mess and I need to do something about it.
Part ofthe reason is I have a fear of success. If it looks like I’m going to do well at something, I immediately lose interest in it.
Today I made myself call back a customer 10 minutes after I had returned from a call and got the right settings for his computer. I’m set to go back out to him at 7 tonight, after my 2 calls this evening. So that’s a slight imrprovement.
Things I need to do:
1. update the website
2. get more flyers out
3. talk to the guy from the Yellow Pages
4. update my accounts book
5. top up the business account with the cash I borrowed
6. set up a “solutions” part on the website – perhaps a bulletin board
7. set up the helpdesk app on the desktop computer, and use it
8. set up Quickbooks, and use it
Those should keep me nice and busy for now…
As part of the focused efforts to improve our business…
we are exhibiting in the upcoming Bangkok International ICT Expo 2005 from August 3 to August 7.
This will be part of a strategy to continuous grow our presence in the region.
If you are in Bangkok during that period, we will be happy to discuss with you on how we are helping organisations improve their efficiency; changing the way they operate in the global economy.
My first step towards this is to
increase the resellers in the reseller channel; or more specifically, VARS.
What Companies Are We Looking Out For?- Companies that takes pride in software development
- Companies that wants to take radical approach or challenge the norm
- Companies that wants to position themselves for the next natural evolution of the Internet.
Our partners in the channel are likely to be companies that like to be early in the game. Eg. They see the potential of Internet before others do. Think of companies in 1995-1997.
