Deborah Schultz is thrilled to start a new week and accomplish many things.
Finished sorting all my paper work (see picture of dining room table.)It took me 2 days to do it. Now, it’s time to figure out who and how much we owe.
How I did it: Technically, it took me seven years to pay off all of my credit card debt, but I am including every card that I have ever had. I am just glad that this experience is over and that I never have to take out another credit card again!!! Good luck everyone, and if you have to take out a loan to pay off your credit cards, DO IT! One of my cards skyrocketed to 29.99%!! That is as high as it gets in my state!

We are over $100,000 in debt. But we have assets that we could sell and pay off our debt. but then we wouldn’t have any means of support for ourselves and we would take a beating on our assets because now is not the time to sell. So, I have been working trying to make money online or by wholesaling property, and I almost made a sale, but then i didn’t. I need to learn to focus better.
I am going to call a credit counselor on Monday, the legitimate kind, not the scams, recommended by my credit card company.

Paid off $1000.00 to CitiCard! I am FREE!!! I have no more credit card debt! Now the student loans are a different story, but at least the interest rate is not the highest that is legally allowed in my state!
I want my credit card balances so I can pay them in full each month and not have to pay out all that interest. I know I’d be under a lot less stress.
is knowing what I owe. 1,339.65 on AMEX and 1,315.80 on USBank
for a total of 2,655.45
Yikes, that’s a lot. But I have already paid 2 off and kept them clear, and I am now on my last 2. I can do it.
bibliomane oommmmmmmmmm
I think I can pay off the smaller one within six months. That will make it easier to throw more money at the big one. :) One step at a time, as they say.
Simultaneously, I’ve started to build up our emergency savings fund. I’m trying to get it to the point where it could cover about 6 months of basic living expenses. I think we are about 40% there.
Well – I dug myself a hole – right now I’m trying to get all my cards below the credit limit! gah! Then I can focus on paying them down. Baby steps!

My Capital One and Citi credit card accounts will remain open, but paying them off will increase my credit score. I have learned from my mistakes about credit cards!
